Australia Scholarships
======================

1. PhD Scholarship, in Computer Science, Australia
---------------------------------------------------
One PhD scholarship is available in the area of database optimization for flash memory. Flash memory is a superior database storage medium than the hard disk drive(HDD). Flash memory can access data up to 100 times faster than HDD and currently can store more than 640GB of data. This means in the future flash memory is likely to replace HDDs for large database servers that require high performance. In addition flash memory is particularly suitable for small portable devices since it is small, shock resistant and uses little energy. This project aims to create and evaluate algorithms that take full advantage of the desirable characteristics of flash memory while overcoming its significant hardware constraints. Applicant must have strong programming capabilities. Scholarship Amount: $26, 669 per year (2009 APAI rate) for 3 years. The scholarship is funded under the ARC discovery project scheme (project number DP0985451).

2. Scholarships of women in Australia(International student)
------------------------------------------------------------
Scholarships for Women in Australia: AFUW QLD, the Queensland association of the Australian Federation of University Women, has been providing fellowships and scholarships for postgraduate research or study since 1972. AFUWQ is part of the International Federation of University Women.

3. Pakistan Australian Development Scholarships
-----------------------------------------------
AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS - FOR MASTER-LEVEL STUDY ONLY

Under the 2010 Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) program the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) is pleased to invite applications from interested candidates who are committed to contribute towards the development of Pakistan. The Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) are the principal mechanism by which Australia provides scholarship assistance for individuals from developing countries to undertake studies at Australian education institutions.
These scholarships are available to all citizens of Pakistan (who currently reside in-country the year round) for Masters-level study in Australia commencing in semester 1, January 2010. Fifty per cent of the scholarships are reserved for female candidates; high priority will be given to those who have not studied overseas at the post-graduate level. The scholarships are generous and include a stipend as well as full tuition fees at well respected and internationally recognized Australian universities.
